The Police Selection Panel Interview – The Final Step

Until your Victoria Police selection panel interview,
you’re just a name and a few numbers on a sheet of paper!
As you may already know, your initial police entrance exam accounts for 50% of your overall police applicant score. The other 50% comes from how well you do at your selection panel! I’ll let you be the judge about how important it’s going to be to make a good impression in your selection panel interview.
Russell was a police officer for 12 years and spent the last 4 years at the police academy as an instructor. Russell offers personal coaching to ensure you make the best impression at your selection panel interview.
Here’s a summary of how Russell’s help can make all the difference to the last step, and potentially the most important, in your application process:
- The session begins with a role playing scenario where you will undergo a practice selection panel interview with Russell. This takes approximately 30 minutes.
- Russell will then spend then next hour discussing the strengths and weakness of your performance and ensure you know what to say and what NOT to say. Russell will take you through a very specific written formula to ensure you know how to deliver your answers to ensure they meet the strict criteria that is applied. This formula will become your homework to help you complete your Victoria Police section panel interview preparation. You will also receive a comprehensive list of practice questions and a work sheet designed to help you fine tune the delivery of your answers based on the criteria and the formula taught in this session.
- The entire session will be video taped and you will receive a copy of the interview so you can do a self critique.
This is invaluable as you will see things you’ve never seen before and it’s the best way to see, hear and feel the impact of some of your personal traits and habits…um, um, um!! Don’t slouch in your chair, make eye contact, speak confidently and clearly, etc are all important issues to get sorted out BEFORE your Victoria Police selection panel interview if you are to make a good impression.
These sessions are available as a one on one private session or in a small group (4 applicants maximum).

Hi PMF,
Thank you so much for your help during my application process.
The day before my panel interview I contacted Russ for some advice/insight of what to expect. I live 2.5hrs from Melbourne and due to leaving it to last minute, I couldn’t make it down in time for a panel coaching session with him before the big day.
Russ went out of his way to suggest ways around it, one suggestion was Skype. He hadn’t done a coaching session via Skype before but we thought we’d give it a go. We did a coaching session that night and Russ focused on the most important aspects, threw some example questions at me and most importantly explained the best way to deliver my answers.
I definitely feel it was beneficial & felt more confident after speaking with him. Through out my interview, I found myself thinking about different advice he had given me & would make sure I applied it to my answers. I hate to think how my interview would have gone if I hadn’t contacted PMF.
Thanks Russ, It’s so great having your service available & it’s easy to see you’re passionate about what you do. I really appreciate your support & all the effort you went to.
Zoe
