Victoria Police Agility Test
What to expect...

Victoria Police is currently using the Victoria Police agility test to assess applicants for fitness and suitability.

The current (UNTIL NOVEMBER 2008) Victoria Police agility test requires applicants to run 2 laps of a 400 meter athletics track while negotiating a series of obstacles as part of the 2nd lap.

Applicants have a time limit of 6 minutes and 30 seconds in which to complete the test.

On the day of the Victoria Police agility test applicants will also attempt a grip strength test as well as a 50 meter swim. The psychological screening questionnaire is conducted on the same day.

Here is a look at the obstacles which form part of the agility test:

Run 500 meters of the Victoria Police running track
prior to arriving at the first obstacle

Climb over a 1 meter hurdle

then under a .5 meter hurdle

Jump onto a platform which stands 1.35m high
with a 55cm over hang

Negotiate a balance beam which is 15cm wide and
travels 8meters gradually increasing in height
from 30cm to 1 meter

Climb through a window with the ledge 1 meter off
the ground and an opening of 80cm squared

Weave your way through a maze
which is 9 meters in length

Climb over a chain mesh fence which is 1.8 meters high

Operate the handcuff simulator by bringing both levers together at the same time

Start position.

Hold the position for a count of 3 seconds
before returning to the start position under control

Finish position.

Now run 200 meters back to the finish line!

I approached Russell after failing the
Victoria Police agility test twice.

I trained with Russell for 6 weeks prior to my 3rd and final attempt and passed! I have no hesitation in recommending Russell, I have found his fresh, individual and specific approach most effective. I found his personal training skills and attributes to be of the highest quality; Russell has the unique quality of being able to motivate you both mentally and physically. Thanks Russell for helping me achieve my goal! I'm so glad I made that first phone call to book in a training session with you. Don't chance it, prepare for it, I'm so glad I trained with Russell.
